She challenged him to battle, and said that if she won, she'd claim him as her husband, and if he won, his prize would be to marry her. Kinda got him coming and going.

Oh, she changed her mind. Kept him overnight and then decided he didn't suit her after all, and threw him out on his ear.

He's the guy who talked mostly in math. Including cursing. There were two of him, actually - always arguing, too; the guy had an ego like you wouldn't believe. I managed to get one talking about music - lucky there's plenty of math in music - and he turned out to sound at least fairly sane apart from that.
